Tracey Has Joined Us!

Tracey is reading The Bronze Horseman.  Cross your fingers.  My last suggestion didn't go over so well. I guess I forgot to tell her A Discovery of Witches is more like Sookie Stackhouse meets your history teacher meets...um...church. LOL

Anyway...I'm hoping she's enamored and there are some videos in our future. Shannon and I have already discussed making one that would involve beergaritas and Blinchiki.  Be afraid.

  1. Too fun... I'm going to be in China the next 2 weeks but hopefully I'll at least be able to follow the blog while I am there. Hope she enjoys it as much as you did.

  2. So far so good. I'm in the early 100s. Random thoughts: I like the longing you feel between Tania and Alexander--it's palpable. I'm getting to the point where I want SOMETHING to happen--I think she just asked him to see if he could track down her brother, so we'll see how that goes. It's a little weird when the POV goes to Alexander. Tania comes off as a little young--it's probably just the naivety--but I can't imagine her getting all freaky with Alex. I love when she whispers "Shura" to herself. Dmitri is a doosh.

  5. If I whisper Shura to myself enough, does an angel get its wings?
    GO Tracey and TBH! I really think you will love it. Is it possible it's been talked up too much? No! you will love it!

  7. I hope you enjoy it, Tracey! (you will) I look forward to any videos we might be see. And Dimitri is a doosh of the biggest kind.

    I can't bring myself to try A Discovery of Witches...too many iffy reviews on Amazon and not cheap enough on kindle yet. I refuse to pay more than 9.99 for any kindle book.

  9. Carol,
    ha! No worries, if I can forgive you for "Green Darkness", Tracey will forgive you for ADOW (I actually _liked_ ADOW, though.......liked, not loved......liked).

    I'm giving a new "reading" friend (It's like a secret initiation question for new people I meet, "Do you read???") "Outlander" and "Bronze Horseman" on Monday...........she doesn't know how her life will change.....

    Tracey,
    you are soooooooo lucky to have a sister who UNDERSTANDS book-addiction!! And trust me, she's bang-on with this suggestion!

  10. {shura ... shura ... shura ...}

    Thanks for all the laugh-out loud moments. Looking forward to live chats, even if Clay has to miss. :(

    {Clay, do you whisper tania ... tania ... tania ... ?}

  11. Yay, Tracey! I'm so glad you've joined us.

    I can't wait for a chat.

    Talldede is visiting me right now. We met online discussing these books. She brought Tatiana's Table for me to read. I'm so excited!!!

  13. Oh I wish I had a sister who is a reader. You two are so lucky. Tracey you will_love_ this series!! It was so fun to read The Summer Garden because I live close to where Tania and Alexander live in AZ and recognize the places they talk about.

  14. Hildy that is amazing! See how books bring us together?!

    MyMac - that's so funny. In TSG, when Shura and Anthony were driving home (and I was afraid they were going to get into an accident) it mentioned them turning onto Pima. I've only been to Phoenix once - and it was only for one day for work - but I remember driving on Pima. I was like "I was there!" and it made me feel great to see it in my mind...so you REALLY must love living there!

    PS - I told Tracey not to read any more comments in this post. She's like me when it comes to spoilers sometimes.

  15. I am loving Tatiana's Table. Did you get your copy yet, Carol? I'm hoping Talldede and I can make some beergaritas on Sunday night. We are meeting up with another TBH/Outlander fan tomorrow night at a Russian Vodka Bar. I guess we're going to be drinking some vodka. :) This may end poorly.

    I'm a huge Henry Cavill fan. I haven't found someone for Tatiana yet that I like.

  16. I love having a sister who is a reader. I love the inside "jokes" we can make with each other. I have her reading TBH trilogy now. She is on the second book. She texts me periodically with questions or squeal moments. We have taken to use the word shura to replace sure!
    Still working on finding my copy of TT. The links on Paullina's site are not very helpful. I am guessing it is out of print.
